Open Call for Public Art Trust's Singapore Bicentennial Commissions
To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the founding of modern Singapore in 2019, the Public Art Trust seeks proposals for two ambitious and imaginative public artworks which respond to at least two out of three of the following Bicentennial objectives:
- Transcend notions of nostalgia to contemplate deeply on Singapore's longer, pre-1819 history
- Draw on history as a point of meaningful connection, highlighting a wider cast of contributors and communities who have contributed to Singapore's development
- Enhance audiences' understanding of Singapre's position in the contemporary world, including the many opportunities and vulnerabilities which abound
The open call ends at 4pm (Singapore time) on 1 Feb 2019.
